New: independent nutrition governance reviews for nursing homes

IHNAPA now offers independent governance services for nursing homes and residential care settings in Ireland, grounded in the patient and carer experience.

Nutrition, hydration and tube feeding are among the highest-risk areas of care in any nursing home, and among the hardest to evidence at inspection. Our services help providers find the gaps before they become problems, and fix them.

Our services

• Nutrition & Hydration Governance Review: a one-day on-site review with a written report and a 90-day action plan.

• Regulation 23 Annual Review Support: evidence gathering, independent consultation with residents and families, and a draft annual review report and quality improvement plan.

• Staff training on safe enteral feeding, PEG care and nutrition in residential care.

• Ongoing governance support, including pre-inspection readiness checks.

• Full Governance Audit: an on-site assessment of the whole facility by our Medical Director and our Head of Governance and Compliance.

Every report is reviewed and approved by our Medical Director before it is returned to the home.
